Lego Star Wars PS3 kids game is an adventure game that will keep the family entertained for hours. The more you play this game, the less likely you will be to put it down. It is action and adventure all rolled into one game. While it is helpful to have seen all the Star Wars movies before playing the game, it is not necessary. You could even have a few family Star Wars movie nights, then Star Wars game nights! Lego Star Wars is rated E 10+ meaning it is meant for everyone ten and older. Since kids learn games faster than adults, it won’t be too hard for most within the rating age to master it.
When first playing this PS3 kids game, you will go into a room with doors. This is the Cantina. These doors lead to different levels within the game. The doors have red and green lights above them. If the light is green, you can enter the door. If the light is red, it cannot be entered yet. You will have to finish the level within the previous door for the door to unlock and the light to turn green. While in the first room, there are tables, chairs and glasses around. You can use your light saber to break these to get “studs”. Studs in Lego Star Wars are like Lego money. Different colors are worth different amounts. You can use them to purchase many items. You can purchase more characters, gold bricks (to help complete levels), view story clips and access helpful tips.
There are many items to collect in this PS3 kids game. One is parts to mini-kits. These are found inside canisters within each level. There are ten hidden in each level, so keep an eye out for them. These parts will form a special vehicle model. Try to collect all the studs you find within each level, as they will give you “True Jedi” status. With this status, you will receive a gold brick. Other items to collect include hearts that will restore your health, Powerups that give you special powers, but only for a short period of time and red power bricks that will unlock other features. You can create two characters in this game. Customize them how you wish. You can mix and match different parts from other characters.
Each story level has three ways to play it. There is Story Mode, Free Play Mode and Challenge Mode. Story Mode is what you will play in until you complete the level. When you complete the level, you will get the chance to play in Free Play or Challenge Modes. Free Play Mode allows you access to play with more characters and or vehicles. Some levels have areas that can only be accessed by characters within Free Play Mode. In Challenge Mode, you will receive a Lego stud bonus if you can collect all ten of the canisters in a level within a certain time.
