Walle PS3 – Kids PS3 Games

ESRB Rating: E for Everyone                                                                                          Read User Reviews

Wall-e is a great game for kids because it requires logic in order to maneuver through the levels.  A young child will need adult assistance to do some light reading and assist the child in understanding the goals of the game.  Once the skills are learned a child should be able to move forward into the game on their own. My four year old son had a bit of trouble at first but very quickly he was able to start playing on his own. What a self esteem builder.

Kids PS3 Games: Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs Game

Watch out for raining huge food in Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs kids PS3 games With an invention that goes terribly wrong, giant food starts raining down. Flint Lockwood finds himself in the middle of a bigger problem than the one he tried to solve. Luckily, a few of his inventions are geared toward solving this very problem. A melting device takes care of very cold food or melting huge pieces of butter. A big boxing glove pops out to push big hamburgers. A slicer cuts the big food down to size. A huge fork assists in handling long spaghetti or taking hold of other food. A liquid invention pulls up liquid and can shoot it out. Finally, a clean-up bot works on cleaning up the huge mess.

The Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs Kids PS3 game’s graphics closely mimics the overall look of the movie and accurately portrays the main characters. Flint Lockwood’s zany movements and quirky tools are accurately reflected onto the game screen. But perhaps the best portrayal is that of the over-sized food. The huge meatballs and hamburgers are strikingly realistic. While some of the over-sized food is more of a cartoon rather than a realistic depiction with the wobbly gummy bears and the ice cream snowmen.

Some of the funnier lines have been transferred from the movie to this PS3 kids game. However, Flint tends to repeat those limited number of lines. The music remains upbeat and follows Flint around the town. While the use of his tools play their own unique musical notes. The food echos the sounds of falling down and going splat.

The game is geared toward children ages 6 and older. They will find the game highly entertaining as they play Flint in his quest to save the town. They will use their critical thinking skills to choose the right tools to deal with the large food and move through the various levels. The puzzles generally aren’t too hard for them to figure out. However if they get stuck, parents can offer crucial assistance in the form of Flint’s pet monkey, Steve. Steve can pop in and out to help Flint with the more difficult puzzles. This nice feature keeps kids from getting to frustrated during the game play.

Overall, the quirky puzzler will appeal to children who are looking for a little fun. Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs video game captures the spirit of the movie and translates well to the PlayStation 3. It is one of the quirkier kids PS3 games and this PS3 game for kids will entertain as well as provide some exercise to their brain.

This the the only PS3 kids game in the bunch that I have not tried out myself. Usually I sit around with my son and play with him or watch him. He likes for me to watch and he also likes for me to get him out of the sticky spots. I do plan to play this game over the weekend. We should have fun with this one.

Appropriate for Ages 10+

Two thumbs straight up to those crazy guys at Disney, who are responsible for creating the movie and video game. I LOVE G-Force! Oh, and you heard that part about hamsters, shooting laser guns and doing back flips. It reminds me of Golden Eye, except the hero has the ability to chew through stuff. At times the hamsters walk on two feet just like us, while at others the hamsters falls on to all four in order to do a massive sprint around the room. He turns, flips, shoots, eats stuff, and you can imagine the rest. He is a jumpy critter, who always seems to be on top of the situation. A large ball of exploding “laboratory like” equipment left me in awe. This little fellow knows how to kick some tail! G-Force is an adventure game with some new loveable characters. The idea of including a hamster as the main character is priceless. We can also buzz around the screen like in Mr. Mosquito, which is a game I have felt for quite some time deserves further recognition. There are also some educational aspects included in G-Force. Perhaps the biggest lesson of all is to not leave your friend in the cage to long. He WILL get out. If you get tired of shooting at things while running around like a “normal” little hamster, then there is always the option of riding in a dangerous ball. It will make you feel “on a roll”, when the bad guys are being chased in an opposite direction. The music is also catchy; it helps a gamer feel right at home. In a laboratory, not to different from the ones we imagine, a young hamster waits to over throw the ones who have stolen him from the wild. He uses technology in ways, which benefit him and his friends. Destroying anything which would other wise cause harm.

Kids PS3 Games: UP PS3 by Disney Pixar

ESRB Rating: E 10+                                                                               Available at Amazon.com |

Disney UP PS3 game takes the characters from the movie and plants them in the middle of the jungles of South America.  As a team, Edward, Carl, and Dug the Dog have to navigate the hazardous of the jungle, fight mean dogs, and collect those all important merit badges.  In addition, the game offers the chance to fly an airplane in a fight against the evil dogs.  The multiplayer mode introduces Kevin.

The jungle is very creative and in some ways deviates from the movie.  The biggest deviation comes in the huge creatures that are encountered along the way.  You face huge crocodiles, anacondas, and some really big bugs.  These are drawn with enough of a cartoon-edge to take the edge off of any real fear of these creatures.  The characters sport all the characteristics of their movie counterparts.

The game has imported many of the more amusing lines which brings the characters in line with the movie version.  The music is pleasant and light without the annoying repetitiveness that other games have.  Although, some tones do repeat themselves when an achievement is reached or a coin collected.

Children ages 5 and up will find Up a joy to play.  As a single player, the transition between characters is smooth and the computer player steps up to assist in the teamwork aspect.  The additional option to change the game from one player to two player allows parents to step in and help.  But it is the four player option that gives the entire family a chance to jump in and play.

The game stresses the importance of working as a team.  It also shows how two entirely different people have to come together and overcome their differences to survive.  The violence is very mild but not missed during game play.  Other than an occasional bug being squashed, the vicious dogs after defeat are gently floated away with a balloon.  Even dying is a relatively smooth transition without the death splat.  However, it does not deal with some of the more difficult themes that are present in the movie.

Up captures many of the movie elements that children love.  The game play is not complicated with the single exception of flying the plane which some may have difficulty with.  It stresses teamwork and overcoming obstacles.  Overall, Up is a good acquisition for the PlayStation 3.  It has all the fun without containing any of the violence of more hardcore games.

We purchased it about a week ago, and he has not put it down. If you are looking for a game that will keep your kids interested then Monsters vs. Aliens is worth a try. The price is reasonable enough to let you kids have a go at it. The characters are pretty easy to maneuver. Monsters vs. Aliens is the perfect game to start out with if your child isn’t used to playing game systems. The characters are easy to activate so your child will learn to play them quickly. Whether your child is a beginner or pro this game will keep him or her busy when they are bored or need to be occupied for a while.

Kids PS3 Games, Cars Race-O-Rama Game

ESRB Rating: E for Everyone                                                   Available at amazon.com | Read User Reviews

With the popular success of the computer-animated children’s film “Cars”, it was easy to assume that the PlayStation 3 version would be a source of enjoyment for the whole family. The creators have not let me down so far. It starts off like most racing games, but quickly incorporates a “witty” kind of originality, which is seldom seen to this level of perfection. Many of the characters talk, and make comments as you compete on the different roads. The lush tracks include a combination of cartoon style trees and objects, yet they also look somewhat realistic. Race O Rama takes a serious plunge into older audiences, being a positive thing, since so many of today’s generation find themselves often playing games geared toward their recommended age for hours on end. From the looks of it, this game had been created with serious attention to detail. Most of the racing games geared toward children people play now, have rather “corny” catch phrases (which at times, can become unbearable when repeated to often). This innovative version made for Sony’s video game system; does not contain many of these flaws. Instead, it spices in an interesting combination of lighthearted play, and serious racing. This may not be a title, which will live on forever in the street racing genera, like Gran Turismo. We will however, remember it for many years to come. Much like Donkey Kong, or any thing else relatively fun, which holds a position on our selves. Which also, proves this might just give a decent run to even the most “furious” of speed racers. This one is a winner.
